Since 2018, I’ve been a coalition partner (through Sister) in Science Rising, a nationwide nonpartisan movement fighting for science, justice, and equity. With a focus on increasing STEM student voter turnout, we made pushes ahead of the 2018 midterm elections and 2020 presidential elections — and our efforts paid off.
Highlights
I produced three impactful partnered series for Science Rising (17 articles in total) that showcased the advocacy and leadership of women in STEM:
- How does your STEM identity connect with your political identity? for National Voter Registration Day 2019
- Youth Climate Mobilization for Earth Day 2020
- Why advocacy still matters for National Voter Registration Day 2020
What I can apply to your program, project, or campaign
- Experience producing partnered article series
- Real-time insight into the equity in STEM conversation
- Identifying story leads and turning them into engaging editorial content
- Connecting organizations with influential leaders in STEM and science advocacy
Testimonial
Partnering with Sister was a very positive experience, and I hope we can work together again in the future. We worked collaboratively to establish mutually beneficial goals, and Sister proactively communicated with us at each step of the process. The whole effort ran smoothly, and we were able to reach a segment of our audience that we hadn’t engaged as deeply in the past.
